Welcome to Safety Works Basic Life Support/CPR and AED (Automated External Defibrillator) training division. Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) is one of the most successful public health initiatives in the past 30 years. Through CPR instruction, thousands of physicians, nurses, healthcare providers, and emergency medical personnel have learned basic life support (BLS) and CPR. In addition, millions of laypersons have learned how to recognize an emergency, access emergency medical services, and perform CPR.

CPR can be lifesaving, but it is best performed by those who have been trained in an accredited CPR course. All parents and those who take care of children should learn infant and child CPR. This jewel of knowledge is something no parent should be without.

Time is very important when dealing with an unconscious child (1 - 8 yrs. old)or infant (Birth to 1) who is not breathing. Permanent brain damage begins after only 4 minutes without oxygen, and death can occur in as little as 10 minutes later.

In infants, major reasons that heartbeat and breathing stop include drowning, suffocation, choking, head trauma or serious injury, excessive bleeding, electrical shock, poisoning, and lung disease.

CPR is the cornerstone of all forms of health care inside and outside of hospital systems. SAFETY WORKS is an authorized training facility for the American Heart Association and the National Safety Council.
SAFETY WORKS can therefore offer the highest level of training available to the public in BLS/CPR and AED's. All courses are available at SAFETY WORKS in TORRANCE, CA. However, to better meet your needs, CPR, AED and First Aid training can also be conducted at your establishment.
